You are still close to the shops and restaurants of Centro. Evenings are usually calmer than in the middle of town.

The beach

The beach is the same long Praia Central, with the same promenade and bike path.

The Ilha das Cabras, a small island just off the beach, is part of the view from this side of the bay.
